What documents do the traffic police need?

To restore the certificate, the owner of the car provides documents to the traffic police officer. The list is small, but can be supplemented, because... depends on the basis of the appeal. The issuance of a new STS will be refused if even one of them is missing:

• identification card of the owner of the car (passport);*
• a statement with a written explanation of the reason and circumstances of the appeal;**
• PTS;
• confirmation of ownership of the car;
• receipt of paid state duty;
• OSAGO policy

Reasons and grounds for obtaining a duplicate certificate

The basis for restoring the STS may be:

• theft;
• change of surname, name or patronymic of the owner of the car;

In case of theft (before visiting the traffic police), the owner of the car must register the fact of theft with the police. This is grounds for initiating a criminal case. Restoration of PTS price

For the restoration of a PTS if lost, the price is 800 rubles. Registration of a new car registration certificate costs 500 rubles. The state duty for the restoration of PTS or STS is paid at the cash desk or terminal of the department. The driver can also pay for it at the Sberbank cash desk, on the Government Services website or through online banking.

Important! When paying for the services of the State Traffic Inspectorate online, you should print out the receipt yourself and save it before visiting the traffic police.

Option 1. Through MREO.

Includes several required steps:

• First of all, you need to fill out an application for restoration of the STS (duplicate). The form can be downloaded on the state website. Traffic police or by visiting the institution in person. This can be done either by hand, entering the necessary data, or on a computer.
• Visit the traffic police department. Take a coupon at the terminal, selecting the desired specialist, or get an appointment on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Provide the MREO inspector with an application and a package of documents for inspection.*
• Get a new STS.

*Some data requires additional verification. This is reflected in the time that will be spent on the procedure. For example, if the application was submitted by a citizen of another country (not the Russian Federation), then the MREO is obliged to submit a request to the FMS to confirm the accuracy of the information provided.

How to make an appointment at the Moscow State Traffic Safety Inspectorate through State Services?

You can undergo the procedure in the capital's MREO by appointment, without standing in lines. There is no need to visit the branch and print out a coupon at the terminal; you can submit an electronic application on the State Services portal. The service is available to registered users. To make an appointment with the traffic police, you need a verified account - verified by the Migration Service and the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. User data is checked after creating an account, confirmation is sent by mail, to a Sberbank branch or to a multifunctional center. Verification of passport and SNILS data may take several business days.

Step-by-step instruction:

1. Authorization, login to your “personal account”
2. Select a service
3. Filling out an application
4. Selecting MREO, date and time of visit
5. Filing an application
6. Payment of state duty (you need a bank card or e-wallet)
7. Printing the completed application and receipt confirming payment of the state fee

When paying the state fee on the website or through the service’s mobile application, the user receives a 30% discount. After registering, a confirmation with a PIN code is received by email or the specified phone number, which the applicant enters in the terminal when visiting the traffic police and becomes in the electronic queue.

Attention! After submitting an application online, the user cannot change the branch address or time of visit. If you cannot receive the service at the chosen branch or at the appointed time, you should cancel the application in your “personal account” and resubmit the application.

Option 2. Using the State Services portal.

This method is suitable for car owners with a verified account. If it is not there, then you will also need to visit the MFC to identify the user. The algorithm for carrying out the procedure is the same as when applying directly to the MREO, with the exception of the long wait (queuing):

• submitting an application, making an appointment at a convenient (geographically) traffic police department for the desired date and time.
• payment of state fees (you can print a receipt and pay it at a bank, terminal or by card on the website);
• visiting the inspection, providing the inspector with documents;
• receiving a new STS.

If the inspector identifies errors in the application or an incomplete package of documentation, the restoration of the certificate may be refused. The car owner will be forced to go through all stages of the procedure again, including making an appointment and filing an application.

Payment of state duty

The replacement or restoration of documents in the traffic police is paid by the owner of the vehicle. The cost of obtaining a new vehicle registration certificate is 500 rubles. Entering new data into the technical passport costs 350 rubles. If a new title is required, the car owner pays a fee of 800 rubles.

Important! Obtaining a new technical passport is required if there is no free space left for a new entry, or the condition of the document does not meet the standards.

At the traffic police department, the applicant can pay the fee in two ways:

• at the register
• via self-service terminal

Before applying to the MREO, the duty is paid in one of these ways:

• bank cash desk
• Internet bank
• State Services service

When paying the fee online, you must save and print the receipt to submit to the traffic police.

Option 3. Restore the certificate using “Serves-gibdd.ru”

The STS, like the registration certificate, are documents that the driver should always have.
