One of the main tasks that the traffic police helpline solves is the fight against corrupt officials. Therefore, you can contact the hotline specialists with the following questions:

  1. What should you do if the inspector asks you to pay penalties for a violation on the spot?
  2. What if there is no evidence? Or, if the violation was recorded by a video recorder, where to send the recording?
  3. A traffic police officer may ask similar questions when a driver tries to give a bribe, behaves aggressively, or attacks an inspector.
  4. Here you can also ask questions regarding fines: if there are doubts about the legality of the issued protocol or amount. What to do if fines have been paid but are still included in the database?

The Penalties Hotline was created to deal with these and other problems.

In theory, you can get advice on the official traffic police portal. But there is no question of any legal assistance in this case. Often a fine is issued out of nowhere. Of course, a lawyer for traffic fines will not be able to constantly accompany you on all trips. However, in a difficult situation, it is definitely worth consulting a lawyer. The final price is determined based on the results of the consideration of the case. Please note: Some human rights defender services have a fixed fee. The services of a lawyer in the traffic police are determined on the spot and are charged based on the complexity of the case and other circumstances.

Traffic police hotline for fines

In 2021, drivers filed more than 10 thousand complaints about the traffic police information and payment system in a month. The essence of the problem was that motorists paid fines and continued to be in the database as non-payers. This problem was brought to the attention of the Public Chamber of Russia, at whose initiative the traffic police hotline for fines was created.

Even earlier, a special website of the department was created, where any driver could check whether he had protocols for traffic violations. Here you could pay fines using an online service. However, there are so many people visiting the site that malfunctions often occur. In addition, the Internet is not available everywhere. The State Traffic Inspectorate hotline for issued fines is an alternative to the website. Qualified employees will inform you about any existing unpaid fines and amounts.

Many drivers, when their rights are violated on the road or disagree with the written protocol, try to contact the traffic police department specifically in their region. Most often, this takes a lot of time and does not always bring the desired result. While the helpline employees have all the necessary information and will be able to advise on all issues of interest. Including who to contact regarding violation of rights. This will significantly save the driver’s time and nerves.

So, how to call the traffic police hotline for fines?

  1. You can do this using a landline or cell phone by dialing the number. This line is uniform for the entire country and absolutely free.
  2. On the traffic police website you can find the hotline number for a specific region. Telephones attached to inspectors’ cars are also freely available here.
  3. You can also find the helpline number on the website of the regional district administration. If for some reason access to it is closed, the information is additionally posted on the reference resources of the locality or the websites of local governments.

When you call the operator, be prepared to give the car registration certificate number or the driver’s driver’s license details.

It is worth remembering that traffic police helpline numbers are often overloaded, so you will need to wait to receive an answer.

Moscow motorists can receive information about available protocols and their amounts via SMS. To do this, you should write the word “fine” with the number of the vehicle registration certificate or driver’s license and send a message by dialing the short combination 7377.

The information received from the operator or SMS will contain only relevant and reliable information.

If a call to the hotline reveals a fine that the driver does not agree with, here you can get advice on how to appeal it. Employees can also help in filing a complaint against the traffic police inspector who issued the fine.

Ask a question to the traffic police online

As a rule, the bulk of administrative violations in our country are caused by non-compliance with traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians. For Russian citizens, traffic inspectors are the personification of protocols, fines, administrative penalties... in this regard, many motorists have a desire to go to the traffic police online and find out, for example, about their fines and debts. The norms of Chapter 12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses are familiar to most drivers who like to exceed the speed limit, which means they know firsthand what fines for offenses are.

Unfortunately, Russian motorists are to some extent irresponsible, due to the fact that they do not want to promptly pay off fines for violating the Rules. To combat this, the traffic police have to tighten the system of sanctions in case of delay in payment of an invoice for an offense on the road. However, as practice shows, there are much more unpaid fine receipts than paid ones.

Currently, automated systems for monitoring traffic order through photo and video recording are actively used. After detecting a violator, the system independently generates a receipt and sends it to the citizen’s place of registration. It is worth noting that this implementation is not yet effective, because not all people live in accordance with the registration in their passport, some rent housing, some live with relatives. Because of this, a person may simply not know that he has violated a traffic rule, because the notification will be sent to an address where he does not actually live. Thus, it turns out that it is quite possible for even the most honest and fair car enthusiast to become a malicious defaulter. Despite the fact that motorists simply do not always receive fines in their name due to the imperfection of automated systems that assist the work of the traffic police, this in no way relieves them of responsibility for the violation. If traffic inspectors check the payments of fined motorists, the latter may face certain troubles.

Today, it is easy to find out your debt on traffic police fines; all you need is a computer with Internet access. On the official website of the traffic police you can not only get complete information about your fines, but also from the traffic police online. This service has made our life much easier. After all, previously it was necessary to look for all the receipts issued by inspectors and check whether they were all paid. Today everything is much simpler. All you have to do is go to the traffic police office, enter your car number and use it. You can get all the information without leaving your home. However, we cannot yet talk about the ideal operation of such a service, since motorists notice that the information in the database is often outdated (the fine has been paid, but in the system it is marked as a debt). In addition, you can find out the information you are interested in on the State Services website.

In this regard, State Traffic Inspectorate specialists say that the functioning of the service is constantly being improved, and the information in the database is updated as far as possible.

While in our country this method of obtaining the necessary information is only just finding its application. Previously, it was planned to create a single database where Russians’ debts for traffic police fines would be collected. However, this approach did not find support for the following reasons:

  • The citizen’s personal data becomes available to a wide range of people.
  • In Russia there are many name matches. For example, several people unloaded from the Ivan Ivanovich Smirnovs. Who to choose and how to identify yourself from the list?
  • It often happens that the incident is not the fault of the owner, but of a citizen who is not mentioned in the insurance. Against this background, to this day there are debates and discussions about whether the existence of the named method of maintaining a database of car fine debtors is advisable.

For those who do not have the opportunity to visit the website, there is such a feature as SMS mailing, the price of which is 10 rubles. However, no one forbids using the old method - calling the police department or traffic police or visiting these government agencies. The disadvantage of this method is the lack of mobility and the waste of a citizen’s personal time running around.

If you're having trouble with your car or auto insurance, you can find support from experts . We will help not only deal with the debts incurred, but also resolve many other issues that arose due to an insured event. In particular, the auto lawyers of Legal Help will conduct their own investigation, which will allow us to understand the incident based on the circumstances studied. If pre-trial settlement of the dispute turns out to be impossible, then with our help you will be able to correctly file a claim in court and flawlessly win the process.

Nuances when calling the helpline

If you look at the reviews on the websites of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs about the fight against corruption among traffic police officers, they have both positive and negative contexts. However, there are quite a lot of good reviews about the traffic police hotline, designed to solve this problem.

Despite this, there are some nuances that are revealed when calling the operator:

  • Often you have to wait a long time for a response to a request, since the number is often busy;
  • Instead of an answer from the operator, you may hear a request to leave a message on the answering machine.

But here it should be understood that this means the service is running. Operators process several thousand calls a day.

But, with patience, every motorist will receive competent assistance; if necessary, the call is immediately transferred to employees who are competent in other matters.

Modern technologies are being introduced into all services, and they have not bypassed the traffic police. Now, even without understanding the question, the driver can contact the hotline operators and get an answer. This significantly reduces the number of violations, both from motorists and traffic police inspectors.

What can a traffic fines lawyer do?

Knowledge of traffic rules and the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation helps to find a way out of any, even difficult situations. The fact is that not all violations of the Rules can bring a driver to administrative responsibility. In some cases, the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation does not provide for punishment. State Traffic Inspectorate employees do not always carefully study the current situation. They often issue fines citing incorrect legal provisions. We will not tolerate such negligence in the performance of our official duties. If you have any doubts regarding the correct classification of the offense committed, please contact us; a fines lawyer will be able to help you. We:

  • Let's get acquainted with the case materials;
  • We will provide a free initial consultation;
  • We will determine whether the punishment was determined correctly.

We are also ready to help drivers reduce the fine imposed. The articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation do not always indicate the exact amount. In most cases, a certain range or minimum amount of recovery is specified. An experienced lawyer will be able to collect evidence that will allow you to reduce the amount of payment. We will appeal the decision made by the traffic police and will help the client save money.

We draw the attention of car owners to the fact that we provide assistance not only to drivers who are 100% sure of their innocence. If you have violated traffic rules and want to reduce costs, take advantage of a free consultation, describe the essence of the problem to a company employee, and our lawyers will be able to find a way to reduce the fine.

What can you find out by calling the traffic police hotline?

The car owner does not always have the time and opportunity to contact the traffic police in person. By calling the traffic police hotline, you can clarify many questions without leaving your home:

  • if a notification has been received, find out why the fine was issued;
  • check the debt;
  • find out why the payment failed and what to do in this case;
  • where to send a video recorder about a traffic violation;
  • make a statement about unlawful actions of a traffic police officer, operators will help you do it correctly;
  • why the car was towed to the impound lot and where it is located.

It is easier to get accurate answers to questions if they are formulated correctly.

How to find out information about fines

Dialing a number
Information on accrued fines can be found in several ways:

  • via the Internet on the traffic police website or through the Gosuslugi portal. In both cases, registration on these resources will be required. On the websites you can not only view information on fines, but also pay for current ones online. There is even a special application designed to view information on your own fines;
  • by phone. Hotline operators will not only advise on current and previously paid fines, but will also promptly provide information on what to do if payment has not been made. You can also complain about illegal actions of traffic police officers on the line;
  • via SMS to number 7377. This service is available only to Muscovites. In the text of the SMS you must indicate the number of the driver's license or car registration certificate and the word “fine”.

Consultation on traffic police fines is available only to the owner of the vehicle or driver’s license. Since the data from these documents will have to be dictated to an employee of the traffic police hotline for fines in order to check their status.
