How long does driving school training last in 2018-2019?

Exam rules

New rules for passing exams in the traffic police (theory and platform) have been developed, which greatly increase the requirements for graduates. Previously, to pass the theory, you had to answer 20 questions in 20 minutes, and the result was counted with 18 correct answers.

According to the new administrative regulations, now in the theoretical exam for each mistake (but no more than 2) you will have to answer 5 additional questions in which you can no longer make mistakes

According to the new administrative regulations, now on the theoretical exam for each mistake (but no more than 2) you will have to answer 5 additional questions in which you can no longer make mistakes. All exam topics are divided into four blocks, and you can only make a mistake in one. In total, the future driver must answer 20 questions correctly, and if there are two errors, he must answer 30 questions. As before, he will have to study 40 tickets.

The validity period of positive results of the theoretical exam is 6 months from the date of passing.

The testing process on site has also changed. If previously a student had to pass three exercises out of five possible, now their number has increased and they will have to demonstrate their level of car ownership by completing five exercises.

The list of exercises includes: 90-degree turns, “snake” (moreover, simpler than in the previous edition), moving and maneuvering in reverse, entering the box in reverse, parking a vehicle and leaving the parking lot, parking for loading and unloading at a loading dock overpass, stopping for safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, stopping and starting on an incline and turning around in a confined space.

The time for performing all five exercises is limited. If they are performed on a site where they are marked sequentially, then it takes 10 minutes, 2 minutes per exercise. When taking the exam, only the applicant for a driver’s license is now in the car at the site, while the inspector monitors the test from the side.

Motorcyclists will be required to demonstrate skills in maneuvering in tight spaces, braking and stopping at various speeds.

Costs for passing a medical examination

How many kilometers to break in a new car?
How long should a car break-in last? To take a driving course, you must present a medical certificate of the established form. The cost of a medical examination depends on two factors: the region where the medical examination will be carried out and the type of medical institution (public/private). The total amount when visiting any city hospital will differ slightly. However, undergoing a medical examination in a private clinic will require significant expenses. To obtain a medical certificate in Moscow you will have to pay about 3 thousand rubles, while in Barnaul no more than 1.6 thousand rubles.

You must wait in line at the office of a surgeon, ophthalmologist, therapist, or ENT specialist. Next, the driver must visit the psychoneurological (400 rub.) and drug treatment (500 rub.) dispensaries at the place of his registration. The doctor can also send the citizen to the military registration and enlistment office. Here you should add travel costs and a lot of time, since usually these institutions are located quite far from the central part of the city.

Detailed costs for obtaining rights

Calculator for calculating the tax deduction for training in a driving school

Since most people only know about paying for a driving school, and don’t even know about additional “excesses,” it would be a good idea to make a more detailed list of cash injections into an article under the general title “cost of obtaining a driver’s license.” The cost of services will be given for Ryazan, since it will be more average for all of Russia.

  1. The most expensive part is paying for the services of the driving school itself. This year her services will cost 20 thousand rubles.
  2. You will need 3×4 photos to take with the right and left corners. Six pieces worth 200 rubles will be enough for you.
  3. After enrolling in a driving school, you will need to pay the cost of a medical examination in order to successfully obtain a driver's license. This means that you will have to visit neuropsychiatric and drug treatment clinics.

But don’t rush to rejoice: in any of the dispensaries you will definitely be sent to the military registration and enlistment office or some other state. institution. Only after these institutions will you be able to issue a medical certificate. Not for free, of course, but for 400 rubles and wasted personal time.

Expenses you don't even know about

For training you will need some aids:

  • SDA (traffic rules);
  • Problem book;
  • Tickets for exam preparation;
  • Comments on tickets.

The total cost of literature will range from 300-500 rubles.

  1. If you successfully study, no additional payments will be required. But if you are an unorganized person, then retaking the theoretical course will cost you about 1,000 rubles. If you want to save money, you have to study hard.
  2. Do you think that after studying you will immediately take the driving test at the traffic police? No. A fairly common occurrence is a long break between these events. So, you can expect an exam at the traffic police for 3 months on average. Therefore, in order to pass your driving test, you will need additional hours. They are usually taken from private instructors or from your own driving school. One hour of driving will cost 400 rubles. The optimal number of hours for preparation is 5. Therefore, plus another 2000 to the total cost of training for a driver’s license.
  3. Upon completion of driving school you will be awarded a certificate. The cost of the “crust” will be 50 rubles. A small thing, but still. Perhaps you will be offered to join some motorist club or community, where they will immediately charge you a certain amount.
  4. So, the most exciting event is the traffic police exam. We won’t discuss the details of the exam, but let’s get straight to the numbers:
      Theory test – 60 rubles;
  5. Practice (driving) – 100 rubles;
  6. Production of a driver's license - 400 rubles (for paper), 800 rubles (for plastic) and 1000 rubles (for international);
  7. Renting a car from a driving school for the duration of the exam costs 400 rubles.
  8. Few people are able to pass their license the first time. Then you need to start over again: retake the exam for 100 rubles, and rent a car again for 400 rubles. Accordingly, we must not forget about the additional hours of driving, for which you will again have to shell out 2,000 rubles.

The conclusion is simple: if a driving school charges you the total amount, then the real amount will be 1.5 times more. Believe me, at any stage the cost of your training for a driver’s license may still increase. For example, you will need the patronage of an instructor to pass the traffic police exam faster, the cost of driving longer with an instructor, paying for gasoline while driving, etc.

What does the number of training hours consist of?

First, the student is taught the basics of driving on a race track. A person practices braking skills, parallel parking, overpasses, and controlled intersections. Then the person is allowed to practice in the city in calm traffic with an assistant instructor. When driving skills in an urban environment are honed, the student will practice driving on busy roads.

How long does practice at a driving school last?

The remaining categories involve less training time, as future drivers of mopeds, scooters or motorcycles take lessons. Category M will take 122 hours, of which 100 hours is theory. The rest of the time is almost entirely spent on practice, of which 4 hours are allocated for exams in the traffic police.

The reform was aimed at improving the quality of driver training and thereby influencing the unfavorable situation on the road. Indeed, according to statistics, the lion's share of road accidents occurs due to the fault of those whose driving experience is less than three years.

The procedure for taking exams for these categories was not prepared in advance. Therefore, citizens could not acquire the rights of category “M”, no matter how much they wanted. Because of this, traffic police officers could not fully use their rights against violators of new sections of traffic rules. For some time, owners of scooters and mopeds took advantage of a loophole and drove them without a driver's license.

An hour of practical training in a driving school

On the eve of the professional holiday of army drivers - Military Motorist Day - “Sentry” goes on a visit to the main driving school of the Armed Forces. Since its opening, the Ostrogozh Training Center has trained more than a thousand junior specialists in the armored service. Alexey Rafaenko will get acquainted with the training process for pilots of army wheeled “cars” and tracked tractors. In the role of a military driver, the presenter will try to perform driving exercises in confined spaces and through obstacles.

The number of hours depends on the category of license for which the person is studying, as well as on the type of transmission. When training for the most popular category “B”, the required number of hours of practical driving is 56 hours when driving a car with a manual transmission. At the request of the student and his written application, training can be carried out in a car with an automatic transmission, in which case the amount is reduced to 54 hours, but the cost of training remains virtually unchanged. In addition, for those trained in a car with an automatic transmission, the traffic police exam is carried out in a similar car, and the corresponding mark is placed on the driver’s license and with such a license you cannot drive a car with a manual transmission. At the request of the student, the established minimum cannot be reduced, even if the student successfully copes with practical driving.

Options for the number of driving hours in driving schools

How long does it take to change engine oil?

Full program schools

28 lessons of 2 astronomical hours are extremely rare, I have only heard rumors about the existence of such driving schools. In practice, good training conditions are 24-26 lessons while driving a car, 1.15-1.30 minutes behind the wheel. Such driving schools can be considered full-fledged. 28 lessons are reduced due to the fact that it is indicated that one or two lessons go to the exam (internal and at the traffic police), 1-2 lessons go to the simulator. An hour of study is treated as academic.

Schools with a reduced curriculum

If for the price of the course it is not possible to provide a serious amount of driving training, driving schools reduce classes as best they can. There are two approaches here - the first, “honest”, driving schools say that they do not have 56 hours. The second approach is that they say 56 hours, but in practice they spend 15-20 lessons, coming up with things like - 15 minutes to formulate a task for a lesson, 15 minutes to discuss the results of a lesson, etc. Exclusion of some topics as optional, such as we do not drive with a trailer, we exclude classes, etc. Naturally, this is all misinformation, and often outright deception.

The obvious option is to advertise two training options; the full program and the shortened one are excluded under current legislation; the training program in a driving school must comply with the standard.

Duration of driving lessons in a driving school

Usually in a driving school we are talking about 24-26 double driving lessons

. Driving lessons largely determine the duration of training in a driving school.

In order to quickly complete the required number of driving lessons, it is highly advisable to study 3 times a week; it is critical to study at least twice a week. 24-26 lessons is respectively 8-9 weeks with three lessons per week

(or 12-13 weeks with two classes).

9 weeks

- this is exactly two months and you have time for additional classes, for example, to get acquainted with the traffic police examination route or other cars.

Taking into account the theory, a full driving school course can be completed in 2.5 - 3 months

.

If you are unable to practice regularly through no fault of your own, communicate with the management of the driving school. It is critical to clarify how training and exams are conducted at a driving school before starting training (at the stage of choosing a driving school).

And constantly monitor the progress of your training. We wrote about what will be required of you during the traffic police exam; if you feel that the training is going too slowly (or, for example, you were delayed at the race track), communicate with your training colleagues, instructor, and driving school management.

Watches by category

Now I’ll tell you how much you need to study for a particular category of rights (amendment to the law in 2014). I'll tell you about the most common ones.

Theoretical course – 104 hours

Driving course – at least 50 hours

Category "D"

The total course is at least 257 hours. There is a lot more driving here and there are many elements on the site. Such as loading and unloading passengers, stopping, turning, maneuvering, etc.

Theoretical course – 157 hours

Driving course of at least 100 hours

Therefore, if you are studying for category “D”, then the training period is much longer.

To summarize: - Provided that you are studying for category “B” and you are ready to study at a driving school 3 – 4 times a week, the duration of your training will be 2.5 months, this is the maximum.

How to become a driving school student?

Before talking about how much a category B license costs, you should know how the learning process works and what is needed for this. To begin with, you will need to submit a package of documents to the driving school (medical certificate form 083/u-89, original copies of identity documents and two photographs 3 by 4 mm), you will also need to pay for the services of the driving school. After completing the training, you will have to pass an exam at the school itself and at Gostekhnadzor, after which a decision will be made to issue you a category B license.

What the law says in 2021

No legislative act regulates the issue regarding the exact timing of training in a driving school for category “B” in 2018. Therefore, we must be guided by ordinary logic. There are certain requirements for the driving schools themselves, on the basis of which the traffic police can consider a certificate issued about training valid. In 2021, the number of hours that had to be attended at a driving school for a category “B” license was significantly increased. At the same time, 8 hours allocated to studying aspects of first aid were removed from the theoretical part - reducing this course from 24 to 16 hours. The theory/practice course, in which future car enthusiasts learned the difference between a manual transmission and an automatic one, was also shortened in 2021. The Ministry of Education, which oversees these issues, considered that two hours is enough to understand this issue, although this is very controversial.

The deadline requirements for driving schools today are as follows:

— 56 hours of practice, — 80 hours of theory,

We compared the statistics of training periods in different driving schools in Russia, collecting information on such large cities as: St. Petersburg, Saratov, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Izhevsk, Ufa, Voronezh. In most driving schools operating in the above cities, the duration of training in a driving school in 2021 for category B is 3 - 3.5 months

. It includes both theoretical and practical courses.

Also, most driving schools offer additional driving hours to those students who believe that they could use additional practical training. Day and evening groups are held according to the schedule: 4 times a week for 4 hours. Weekend groups, specially created for those students who cannot attend classes on weekdays, are not available at all driving schools and, as a rule, they are overcrowded - there are a lot of busy people in our country.

After completing a three-month course for category B

cadets from the driving school are sent to take theoretical and practical exams at the traffic police to confirm their skills. The practice is carried out both in areas specially equipped for this purpose: on overpasses and parking lots, as well as in urban conditions.

Term of study in 2021

Since August 2021, by order of the Ministry of Education, training programs have been changed. These changes came into force on August 11, and it was from this date that all driving schools, regardless of type, had to organize the educational process in accordance with the changes. The theory course within this program is 130 hours, but the duration of the course depends on the frequency of classes per week. So, if there are 2 classes per week, then the course will last for 5.5 months, if there are 5 classes, then the duration will be 2.5 months.

Driving school training period

Most often, schools conduct 3 classes per week, and then the course takes a little more than 3.5 months. The course also consists of practical classes, which are conducted separately from theoretical ones. For example, the number of practical hours for category “B” is 56 or 54, depending on the type of checkpoint. With an average workload, the practical course is completed in a month or a little more. However, due to the fact that practice around the city is possible after fully studying the theory and passing exams, the course is extended for this month. If exams both in a driving school and in the traffic police go one after another with the minimum possible time intervals, and the examinee successfully passes the exams on the first try, then with the most intensive training course of 5 lessons per week of theory followed by practice, you can get a license in 3, 5 months.

How many hours of driving does it take to learn how to drive and pass the test?

Naturally, this is a rhetorical question and there is no clear answer to it. In my opinion, there are 24-26 lessons of 1.20-1.30 minutes each, of which about 20 in the city allow you to learn how to drive a car.

There is a semi-imperial rule that the number of classes should be equal to the student’s age divided by two, the numbers here are also very individual, but the idea that later learning is much more difficult is correct.

Sometimes people who teach driving say that 56 hours is not enough.

You can understand how much you personally need only after starting your studies; control the learning process; if something goes wrong, change your approach to learning.

Driving hours in driving school in practice

The approximate program from the Ministry of Education is a theory; the practice of teaching in a driving school is completely different. Describing the situation with driving lessons in Moscow and St. Petersburg, I described the situation in detail. I will try to describe the situation for all regions of Russia.

In most regions of Russia, driving schools operate in conditions of fierce price competition and dumping is widely used (students choose a driving school based on price and, accordingly, driving schools advertise the minimum price for training). For the stated price of training, from 17,000 rubles to approximately 25,000 rubles (the numbers are arbitrary and depend on the region, they can vary greatly) it is not possible to study according to the recommended program.

Why this situation arose (price competition of driving schools) can be read here:

Reform of obtaining a driver's license 2013-2017, summing up the first results...

Such prices do not allow the driving school to offer a full driving training program, including 56 astronomical hours of practice behind the wheel. We are not even talking about the most common format of full training - 24-26 lessons, 1.15-1.20 hours each. It may turn out that 12-15 lessons of 1 hour are expected. And you need to understand that the cost of a course at a driving school and the cost of obtaining a license are sometimes completely different figures. The lower the cost of a course at a driving school, the greater the likelihood that additional payments will arise. What else you sometimes have to pay for is described in a separate material.

Driving school price of training - how much does a license cost?

From the point of view of the number of driving hours, all driving schools can be divided into several groups, the classification is quite simple - it has only two parameters - the number of driving hours in the training program and whether the driving school is trying to extort additional money from students by imposing additional paid classes or some other paid ones services.

Duration of training at the driving school since 2015

11/13/2014 Technology

In 2014, the number of people wishing to obtain a driver's license increased. The reason for this was an increase in the duration of training in driving schools, new training rules and a ban on the opportunity to undergo external training.

Information began to appear regularly that it would now be necessary to study for 6 months, which is twice as long as before. But, just, does anyone who wants to get their first driver’s license really have to find time for six months and rearrange their work schedule to attend all these classes?! In addition, even some instructors from driving schools claim that all this is somewhat far-fetched. To get a little idea of the picture, it is enough to compare the old and new rules.

Duration of training in a driving school.

The fact is that the requirements do not seem to have a specific number of months, but there are hours that need to be allocated for study. Even in past years, training in driving schools varied. Some had to study for 2.5 months, others for 3, and in some schools, the period of preparation for the traffic police exam even reached 4 months.

In the new rules for students, there is also no mention of the fact that you need to study for six months. It is only written down how many hours you need to study and what exactly they should be spent on. So let’s try to compare the new and previous requirements to find these missing three months.

According to the new rules, in order to gain access to the traffic police exams, you will need to study 190 hours. Of these, 56 hours are allocated for practice (driving), 130 for theory and 4 for an internal exam at a driving school.

Before these rules were adopted, 156 hours were spent studying (50 hours driving and 106 hours theory). Does it make sense to extend training at a driving school for six months if only 34 hours of training have been added in total?! It makes sense to simply distribute them according to an existing schedule. You can add a couple of extra hours a week or increase each lesson by 30 minutes and the problem is solved.

And it is not profitable for a driving school to teach for a long time, since in this case, only two streams of students will pass through it, instead of three or four, as is happening now. But then why do such statements appear?!

Firstly, the first reason is most likely due to the fact that all this is inflated and fictitious in order to justify to applicants the too high cost of training after the adoption of new requirements for driving schools. Due to new requirements, which primarily hit schools that do not have their own racing tracks, a number of driving schools ceased to exist. If you want to play your favorite gambling games only on trusted sites, then you don’t have to spend a lot of time searching and maybe even lose money. Here is a link to the rating of honest casinos https://topcasino2021.com, they are usually compiled conscientiously, so that players can safely place bets and not be afraid of deception by operators.

Competition is decreasing, and this is for their services, but the price is too high, attracting the attention of not only those who want to study, but also the authorities that control it. In general everything is good

If you put the information presented in your head, it turns out that the training time has almost doubled, so driving schools are also loyal to their students.

Another interesting thing is this. According to the new rules, for retaking the exam you need to pay another thousand rubles, for the next two thousand. How would driving schools react to such a practice, how to oblige them to compensate 50 percent for the additional payment of fees, for the fact that they poorly prepared the student for such a long period of study?! They have an internal exam, which their student successfully passed before going to the traffic police?!

Is it possible to reduce the training period, and if so, how?

Educational vehicle

Not everyone, especially working people, has the time and desire to spend so many weeks obtaining a driver's license. Therefore, many are interested in the question: is it possible to somehow reduce this period? It’s worth saying right away that the number of mandatory hours cannot be reduced. This is the minimum that needs to be worked out.

The exception is for experienced drivers who have a license of a different category. Now they won’t have to sit at a desk again and go through the entire basic course. Obtaining a license of another category is part of the driver retraining program and takes much less time. For example, to retrain from category B to C, it will take about 2 months; from B to D – about 3 months; from C to B – less than 1 month; from D to B – about 1.5 months.

But in order for the owner of a license for a four-wheeled vehicle to become the owner of categories A, A1 and M (motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, etc.), he will have to take a full course and vice versa.

So, obtaining additional categories for experienced drivers is now faster and, accordingly, cheaper. The innovation also affected cars with automatic transmission and manual transmission. The license now indicates which of the two gearboxes the driver was trained for. And if it's automatic, he can't drive a manual car. But on the contrary - it is possible. If the driver wants to switch from an automatic to a manual, he will have to take a short additional course, which will take about two weeks.

As for beginners, there is no way for them to get around the required 190 hours. However, driving schools are trying to make life easier for their students. For example, many of them help you create an individual lesson schedule that will be as convenient as possible. In addition, an innovation in modern driving schools is distance learning. It allows you to study a theoretical course remotely, using an online office via the Internet. By studying at home, you can, if not reduce the number of hours, then at least not waste time on traveling to classrooms and make learning as comfortable as possible.

New rules for passing driving exams

Pass your license in 2021

In this case, city driving may not be possible.

  • Of course, we take the traffic rules exam after the period of deprivation of a driver’s license is completed, if such a trouble has occurred in your life.
  • In all of the above cases, you must undergo a medical examination (in case of deprivation - if it was for driving under the influence of alcohol, under the influence of drugs or when refusing an examination), pay a state fee (fines - for those deprived) and undergo appropriate training. What is the fine if the law is introduced, but I do not retake the traffic rules? Let’s reason logically: you didn’t retake your license, which means you won’t receive a new license, and this in turn means that you risk paying a fine for driving without a license. The amount of punishment is 5-15 thousand rubles under the current administrative article.

After 6 months, if the exams are not passed, you must re-take training at a driving school. Other innovations in 2021

  1. You can take the exams at any department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian Federation for persons with Russian citizenship.
  2. Changing to an automatic transmission does not allow further driving with a manual transmission.
  3. Training in a driving school is a mandatory requirement for passing certification in the traffic police.
  4. The application can be submitted electronically through the government services website.
  5. With the written consent of their parents or guardians, students under 18 years of age can take exams along with others.

As can be seen from the information provided above, every year the procedure for obtaining rights becomes more and more complex and stringent. The new law, put forward by an organization such as the SAR (Union of Driving Schools of Russia), prescribes the introduction of a retake of the exam on traffic rules theory when replacing licenses after their expiration date.

In practice, it turns out this way: if you are a driver, then ten years after receiving your license you need to re-pass the traffic rules test.

There is no exact information about the place of taking the test (traffic police, driving school).

It should be noted that such a requirement will cause a number of problems for drivers.

First, you will need to undergo a medical examination.

Secondly, “pleasure” is not free. Thus, the fee for a regular driver’s license is 2,000 rubles, for an international one – 1,600 rubles (however, the payment will decrease by 30 percent if done through State Services).

And finally, the most difficult thing is retaking the traffic rules when replacing your license.

Legislative regulation

The theoretical skills acquired in a driving school must be supported by practical driving skills. This is not so easy to do, and before you become an independent full-fledged participant in the road traffic, you will need to spend a single hour behind the wheel of a training vehicle under the strict guidance of an experienced instructor. The amount of time spent in a training vehicle is not limited, subject to payment, but the minimum hours of practical driving is fixed at the level of federal legislation. What is the minimum number of hours of driving (practice) required by law to attend a driving school in 2021? What law regulates these deadlines? How long does it take to drive depending on the driver’s license category? We will answer these questions in this article.

Number of hours depending on the category of rights

The minimum standards for practical driving in a driving school during the training process are enshrined in the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “On approval of exemplary professional training programs for drivers of vehicles of relevant categories and subcategories” No. 1408 dated December 26, 2013. The number of additional hours of practical driving after the student rolls out the established the minimum is determined virtually independently by the student. Each additional lesson is paid according to the driving school tariffs.

  • Passing the “theory” will not be easy: the number and variability of questions in tickets and tests will increase by an order of magnitude;
  • Increasing the time of the practical part to 30 minutes will entail more maneuvers on the road, which means the number of errors and controversial situations will increase;
  • It is not possible to “learn” the exam route. The inspector will choose which street the candidate should drive on;
  • “Side” maneuvers will have to be performed in urban conditions - for inexperienced drivers this is a high risk of additional errors. There will be no chips on the exam to record incorrect execution of elements.
  • Instead of points for errors, a new methodology for assessing candidate skills will be introduced. Simply put, the inspector will decide at his own discretion whether the candidate performed this or that element correctly or not. Needless to say, these assessments can often differ from the opinion of the same instructor?
  • Now, if you succeed on the “site” and fail in the “city”, you only need to retake the city stage. According to the new rules, you will need to retake the entire exam.

Changes in the issuance of international licenses

Deputies of the United Russia party indicated in a note that it is necessary to extend the exchange of foreign driver's licenses for Russian ones. Many employers are faced with problems of foreigners, since it is they who bear all the responsibility. According to experts, 9.5 thousand foreign drivers work in the country. All of them work in transport companies and provide transportation services: taxis, freight transport, public transport, international transport.

Regions in which the largest number of drivers operate:

  1. Smolensk region; 2. Moscow and Moscow region;3. Bryansk region.

Every driver who uses a license issued in another country is required to exchange it for Russian documents. Changes were made to the Federal Law “On Road Safety” in 2013. Based on these changes, the deadline was set until June 1, 2021.

Since there are no equipped rolling stock sites for foreigners to take exams, it is necessary to solve the problem using alternative methods. Representatives of driving schools are 100% sure of this. They note that extending the period for exchanging licenses could be fatal for road users.

Currently, the number of accidents among novice drivers is 10-12%, retired drivers - 7-8%, foreign drivers - more than 30%." This was reported by the head of the “Guild of Driving Schools” Sergei Lobarev. Free consultations and retraining of foreign drivers will be provided. In 2013, since the adoption of the amendments, only 3% of foreign drivers in the Russian Federation were able to pass the exams and receive a Russian driver’s license.

The Federal Law discussed the time frame for foreign drivers to exchange their licenses for Russian licenses. This period is four years. The one-year extension allowed foreigners to legally carry out labor activities in Russia. The State Duma did not have time to pass the bill to extend the deadline. On June 1, 2021, most drivers did not go to work due to the lack of a Russian driver’s license.

At the moment, new traffic rules have come into effect. If he loses his driver's license, he has the right to restore it at the MFC. This structure is where international rights are issued. A medical certificate is not required.

How long to study at a driving school

The period for acquiring knowledge is established by the Ministry of Education. This organization also develops a training program according to which the work process is carried out. Upon completion, graduates must be certified, and only after that, based on positive results, they will be able to receive the coveted crust.

The period established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is divided into hours and in total reaches 130 hours for obtaining theoretical knowledge and 56 hours for obtaining practical skills. A few years ago, this interval was limited to 48 hours. Now it’s worth devoting more time to actual driving.

However, it is worth knowing how long training at a driving school lasts in calendar terms. Traditionally, instructors spread the volume of knowledge over 2-3 months when it comes to obtaining the most popular category B. At the same time, the weekly load increases. After all, previously it was enough to take 1-2 classes a week while driving, but now the density increases due to the added hours.

Academic or astronomical hour?

Those who want to become drivers often do not know all the details of training. In particular, one of the questions that may be of interest to potential candidates is: how many hours do you need to drive in a driving school?

Is it possible to take extra hours?

Above we wrote how many hours you need to go to a driving school according to the rules. Those. This is exactly what is provided for in the state education program. If you drive less than this amount, you simply will not be allowed to take the practical exam. It will be considered that you have not completed the course completely.

However, it is worth considering that someone may need additional hours of driving or practicing exercises, which will affect the increase in time. Another point is the exam. First internal, then to the traffic police. And, unfortunately, not everyone manages to pass them the first time. In addition, even if the exam at school is passed immediately, it is not a fact that you can go to the traffic police the next day. Most likely, the gap will also take time.

Secondly, the changes affected the timing of training. The number of hours has increased - now there are 190 versus 156 previously. According to the legislature, increasing the time spent at the desk and behind the wheel in the company of an instructor will improve the result - namely, the quality of education.

Many people who are planning to learn how to drive a car are often interested and ask the question: “how long does training at a driving school last?” It is worth noting that in a school where a person can pass category A and B licenses, the total number of lectures is counted in hours. It is important to attend classes for a certain amount of time, and how quickly a student learns a program for a particular type of driving depends on his capabilities and the professionalism of the teachers.

Theory

The training program at a driving school includes theoretical and practical parts, but the first lessons await you only “naked” theory - practice will begin in about a couple of weeks. It will introduce you to the rules of the road, all the road signs that you will encounter, administrative and criminal liability for offenses and much more.

In parallel with this theory (sometimes at the end of all theoretical cycles), several classes in medicine will be held, where you will not only be taught basic first aid in case of accidents, but will also be told what not to do in case of serious accidents.

Next comes another type of theory - terms related directly to driving itself; Along with this stage comes two to three weeks of training on the simulator.

***

The entire theory takes 106 hours of academic time. An academic hour, we remind you, is equal to 45 minutes, in contrast to an astronomical hour, which lasts 60 minutes

It is useful to pay attention to this difference when concluding an agreement so that there are no misunderstandings between you and the school

Training driving traffic rules

So, if you look at provision 7 of this order, you can understand that the driver’s working hours cannot exceed 40 hours per week. Of course, for city drivers, this is easy to track, but for truckers, which you are, everything is a little different.

How long does it take to study at a driving school for a category B license?

For example, I am 500 km from home to my parents, but we travel this distance in almost 7 hours. Since there are areas with poor coverage and you cannot accelerate much there, the road passes through a large city and several settlements, where the speed is also reduced. Plus, there are areas with one-lane traffic and there you can “stand” literally behind a truck...

Is it possible to get licenses for free?

You will be surprised, but today you can get a license for free or at minimal cost, for example, only by paying for gasoline and state duty. This is possible in several cases:

Completing training at a children's and youth automobile club. If you join it and learn how to use a car, then you can pass the exam. True, for this you will need to pay for the services of a company that will prepare documents for transfer to the traffic police. But even in this case, the cost of obtaining a driver’s license will be significantly lower than taking a full course of training at a driving school.

Registration at the employment center. If you have lost your job and registered with the employment center, you can try to get free training. It will be provided if there are no vacancies at all in your specialty, and you indicate in the application form that you are interested in driving and cars. But the number of free places is strictly limited, and everyone who wants to get a license at the expense of the employment center is put on a waiting list. How long it lasts depends on the number of applicants.

Completion of military service. When a young man is drafted into the army, he may be taught to drive, especially if assigned to an appropriate position. In this case, the military registration and enlistment office issues a referral and sends you to study. All you need to do is pay the fee, pass the theoretical and practical exam well, and get a driver's license.

Training at a military department or as an auto mechanic. In many universities, technical schools, and specialized educational institutions, the practice of free education for students is widespread. The educational institution may cover most or all of the costs, in which case you will receive a driver's license for free.

Being on parental leave. In some regions - for example, in Moscow - mothers on maternity leave can get help in obtaining a driver's license. The state may bear part of the costs of training and other expenses when obtaining a license.

Methods of training in a driving school

Accordingly, now there is no way to get a license without attending a driving school. But the law provides for a way to learn without attending classes.

This method is online learning, it is absolutely legal. Any citizen of the Russian Federation or another country can take online training.

To do this, you need a desire to obtain a license of category “B” and a medical certificate confirming that there are no restrictions for driving a vehicle.

An online driving school provides an opportunity to study the rules of the road for those who are planning to take preparatory courses.

Training is carried out for most of the hours provided for by the course:

  1. Basic provisions of the legislation defining the rules of road traffic.
  2. The structure and procedure for maintaining a vehicle that belongs to category “B”.
  3. Organization of transportation and its implementation on a vehicle.

These include:

  • psychophysiological basis of driver behavior behind the wheel;
  • providing first aid to victims of road accidents;
  • driving a vehicle that belongs to category “B”.

At the end of the online training and completion of all practical classes, the candidate driver is invited to take an internal exam at a driving school. If successfully passed, the citizen is allowed to take the driving license test at the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.

Distance learning is an alternative to the traditional method. It is more convenient for many, as it can significantly save time.

Main advantages of distance learning

Online or distance learning has a number of advantages. The main ones are:

  1. Accessibility - there is no need to search for a driving school near your home or work. To obtain the necessary knowledge, it is enough to have a device with Internet access.
  2. Saving money - there is no need to travel to theoretical classes, so money is saved on transportation costs.
  3. Flexible class schedule - the student chooses the time to watch online classes that is most convenient for him. This will allow you to complete your training without interrupting your main job or family.
  4. There is no need to wait until the group is formed, but start training at any time.
  5. Good efficiency - if there is a certain misunderstanding in the material being taught, there is always the opportunity to repeat the review until it is completely understood. The theoretical part is presented in an accessible form and is quite easy to understand.
  6. Convenient conditions - a person can study whenever and wherever he wants, and there are no restrictions on studying the material.

Distance learning procedure

If the future driver has chosen a distance learning form at a driving school, he must contact the nearest educational institution that specializes in driver training and take some steps.

First of all, you should go through the registration procedure:

  • enter into an agreement with a driving school for the provision of educational services;
  • submit an application requesting admission;
  • contribute funds for training;
  • log in to your personal account.

After registration, the student studies independently using a special program, for example, Auto in line. When the theory has been studied, the future driver takes tests on the material covered - in the same program.

You can take the exam at any free time

But it is important to remember that the validity of a medical report is limited. Therefore, there is no point in postponing such a procedure, otherwise it may also be necessary to undergo it

A driving school student takes a traffic inspection exam. After checking the results, a person who has positive answers in all subjects of study will receive a driver's license.

If the exam results are unsatisfactory, the cadet is invited to retake the test.

Now there is no way to get a driving license without attending a driving school. Accordingly, you cannot take the exam externally. But if you wish, you can use an alternative to training, which is completely legal.

Citizens who want to obtain a category “B” license have the right to take advantage of distance learning at a driving school.

Distance or online learning allows you to save time and study theory in any convenient place. All you need is Internet access.

Driving school exam

When choosing a driving school, be sure to check how internal exams are held at the driving school and according to what rules (they do not necessarily coincide with the rules of exams in the traffic police). It is imperative to clarify the conditions (including the cost) of retaking the exam.

Additional classes and familiarization with the examination route at the traffic police

In order to comfortably pass exams at the traffic police, you need to be prepared for a different car (there are no guarantees that you will take and retake the exam in the same car that you studied) and know the exam route. If at a driving school you are introduced to the exam route, then sometimes this may not be enough (you need to master the exam maneuvers very well). So it’s optimal to plan additional classes for the end of your training at a driving school (you can study at the same time).
