How to find out the month of manufacture of a car by title

In order for a car to be used, it must have documents indicating the identity of the owner, the technical characteristics of the car and the place of registration.

One of these documents is a vehicle passport, used when checking a car.

Thanks to the PTS number and series, not only the presence of the owner is checked, but also the list of violations, the state of accounting and other nuances.

The question of how to find out the series and number of the PTS (vehicle passport) in 2021 is quite common, especially if you need to check the car without having documents with you.

General information

A car passport, like a person’s passport, is the main document in which information about the features of operation, sale and purchase is entered, and such data is transferred to the registers of the State Traffic Inspectorate, tax and other federal services.

The registration certificate is a document of strict accountability, so the driver must always have one, and its design and appearance are regulated by law.

The car's passport will include:

  • vehicle make and model;
  • body type provided by the manufacturer;
  • VIN number;
  • color;
  • vehicle mass;
  • engine and chassis number, as well as engine model;
  • date of release from the factory and time of registration with the traffic police;
  • the authority that issued the document;
  • personal data of the owner in the form of full name and residential address.

A car passport allows you to find out points related to the history of the owners and the car, possible accidents, the presence of fines and the status of their payment.

Some car buyers are afraid to buy a loaned or stolen car, but the title makes it possible to check such information, all that remains is to check the technical data of the car. But first you will need to clarify where to watch the episode and the PTS number.

This document is issued by different institutions, depending on the origin of the car and how it got to Russia.

The functions of issuing PTS are performed by the MREO, which is the body of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and customs, if the car is imported into the territory of the Russian Federation from abroad and is declared for permanent residence in the country.

The manufacturer can also issue technical certificates for cars, and this occurs if the car is purchased directly from the factory, bypassing intermediaries and car dealerships.

What language are the letters in?

Drivers often have a question about whether Russian or English letters are used in the registration certificate. The PTS series is written in Russian letters; if we are talking about older cars, then the first letter in the PTS will be T, and then random letters are written.

After 2008, PTS began to receive the first letter T in the technical passport; an exception can only be when it comes to foreign cars assembled in Russia.

The first numbers before the letters indicate the region, for example, 77 is Moscow, and 82 is the Republic of Crimea; this can also help identify a fake if you know the nuances.

Having carefully studied the PTS, you can quickly notice inconsistencies in the data, for example, if the region code does not match the specified traffic police authority (code 82 is indicated in the number, and the traffic police authority in Chelyabinsk is indicated in the designated column).

Since this is a Russian document, it has Russian letters in its series and number, and this in some sense simplifies working with this paper.

When searching for information about PTS in online services, you should keep in mind that basic data is entered in English, that is, in Latin letters.

The letters must be correctly transliterated and entered, and if the site shows an error, it means that some character was specified incorrectly.

The rule for indicating the series and passport number of a car also applies when registering for compulsory motor liability insurance, but the rules differ in different companies and verification of correctness occurs automatically under the control of the RSA.

And to avoid errors, you should determine the insurance company and its rules. Duplicate PTS? When the owner is in doubt about how exactly information should be entered, he should use the Latin layout; it will definitely not be erroneous.

The legislative framework

The main regulatory act stipulating the use of a vehicle passport in the Russian Federation is the order “On approval of the Regulations on vehicle passports and vehicle chassis passports.”

It was published by three ministries at once - Internal Affairs, Industry and Energy, Economy and Development, as a result of which the document has three numbers at once - 496, 192 and 134, respectively.

It states for which vehicles and why a PTS should be issued; a separate chapter is dedicated to covering the procedure for issuing passports.

There are also applications that collect digital region codes, vehicle categories and information about the appearance of the passport.

From July 1, 2021, in Russia it will be possible to issue an electronic registration certificate, which is an entry in an electronic database.

The decision was made on the basis of Law 156-FZ “On the ratification of the Agreement on the introduction of uniform forms of vehicle passports (vehicle chassis passports) and the organization of electronic passport systems.”

The law assumes that such a step will unite the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and will allow for more centralized verification of technical passports, while at the same time protecting them more strongly.

What you need to know

The vehicle passport contains information about the previous owners of the car, the fines imposed on it and the number of re-registration acts.

You can find the series and document number either on the front side of the document or on the back side at the top; it is always printed in red, which distinguishes it from other designations.

If the driver does not have registration documents with him, this will lead to a fine of 500 rubles, and if there are signs of forgery, the traffic police officer may well organize an additional check.

The registration certificate cannot have a series and number similar to another similar document; this makes the check more fruitful and reduces the risk of making a mistake.

It is worth paying close attention to a document with a duplicate stamp; such papers are often used by scammers who sell problem cars, and you need to find out the reason for restoring the document.

If the owner does not mind checking the database, you should use this and track the entire history of the car, avoiding possible problems after purchase. It will not be possible to find out the PTS number by the VIN code if the inspection is not carried out by the owner of the car.

Decryption features

It is important to read the PTS number and series correctly, the series is indicated by two numbers and two letters, the combination of numbers indicates in which region the car was registered and the PTS was issued, the letters are not so important.

Photo: PTS check for originality

For cars after 2008 there must be a series with the first letter U; before this period, the document had a T series, which ended.

The simplest check can be to check the codes of the region and the area where the document was issued; if they differ, then most likely it is a fake document.

The car passport must be filled out by the printer, and any written data is unacceptable, and it is also impossible for the sheets to have different fonts.

There are also some series and numbers that are considered counterfeit and the use of cars with such documents is illegal.

This is the 77 TK series with numbers 871001-872000, 875001-876000, 810201-810306, 810392-810411, 810996-810000, 810360 and 810550.

The list also includes series 50 TA with numbers 062001-063000; all of them have not been cleared by customs officers, and if such vehicles are used, this is fraught with sanctions and punishment.

How to find out the issue date

To find out the date of issue of a transport passport, having the series and number of the document, you can use several methods.

The easiest way would be to consult with traffic police officers in person or by phone; they can use their own database of vehicles and find a specific car.

The traffic police has its own online service that allows you to find information about any car, and finally, there are third-party sites that not only allow you to find data, but also pay penalties, if any.

Using online services, if you have your passport in hand, you can clarify information on all the features of the car, that is, the make and model, VIN code, engine number, even the color and power of the engine.

Typically, information is not provided directly to the traffic police over the phone, as this may be seen as a violation of confidentiality.

The owner of the car needs to go to the police himself and personally request information, only then will it be provided without problems.

But what to do if the engine number does not match the title is a difficult question, and it must be resolved immediately by the traffic police.

Is it the same as STS?

To simplify document flow in the electronic automobile database, a car passport and a registration certificate are provided for the car in pairs.

The number and series of documents are completely identical, so even if you have one of the documents with you, you can perform basic actions, for example, check fines or restrictions.

The law clearly states sanctions for the driver’s lack of car registration documents, but a PTS is not included in their list, and only a registration certificate is required.

The driver must have it with him to prove to the inspector the right to own the car and the absence of problems with the law, but this information can be verified by other methods.

Therefore, for the absence of a registration document, the driver can be fined, and in some cases the car is even sent to the impound lot.

You will need your passport during the procedure of registering a car and purchasing insurance; in other situations, you do not need to carry it with you.

If the car is a credit car, then the PTS will remain in the bank until the debt is fully repaid.

Where can you check your car's passport details online?

There are ways to check a car’s passport online, and there are many of them, but the main option is still the option of personally contacting the traffic police.

If this is not possible, then you can use the online service on the traffic police website, where the search is carried out by VIN number, body number and state number.

Photo: checking fines on the traffic police website

By entering this information, you can obtain complete data on the vehicle’s passport and whether the car is registered with the traffic police.

Some sites on the Internet also allow you to check PTS, asking for a minimum of data, but you should be especially careful with them.

These resources may well be fraudulent and show false data, so you need to use either trusted sites or turn to other verification methods.

The scope of the requested information differs; it can be either driver’s license data, license plate numbers and STS, or other basic data.

But if they exist, it is better to contact the traffic police website; its functionality is not as convenient as that of third-party options, but the risk of receiving incorrect data or fraud is completely eliminated.

If the result is that the PTS is not in the database, you need to additionally find out the reason for this.

If you are interested in the question of how to find out the date of issue of the PTS by VIN code, see here.

A vehicle passport is a basic document that reflects the characteristics of the car, its unique data, and even its ownership history.

You can find out the series and number of this document directly from the paper itself, and obtaining such information allows you to check the car for fines and dubious facts about its history.

Having the series and PTS number will help you recognize a fake in time and avoid purchasing a problematic car.

PTS is a vehicle passport that contains information about the car and its owners. The document is drawn up when the car is sold and transferred to the new owners.

Information about PTS data may be required when checking a vehicle and issuing an insurance policy. But sometimes the document is not with you, or it has been lost, which makes it difficult to obtain the necessary information.

Where can I find out the date of issue of the PTS?

Does the STS information match the PTS data?

PTS and STS forms are issued on approximately the same dates. The number and series are identical.

If there is only one document, you can check for fines.

You can check the vehicle history by dictating the number and series of both documents.

The driver should always have an STS when driving a car. This document proves ownership of the car. If the form is missing, the State Traffic Inspectorate inspector will impose a fine of five hundred rubles.

You don’t have to take your PTS with you. Those who purchase a car on credit transfer the title to the bank. Of course, STS and PTS have some similarities, for example, both of these documents are protected from forgery, as they use special holograms.

PTS is one of the most important documents. It proves the right of ownership of a specific person. Unlike a registration certificate, a registration certificate is necessary to track the fact of sale to other people. Both PTS and STS have a VIN code, series and passport number of the owner.

What is it for?

The date of issue of the passport is required only in two cases:

  1. To obtain an MTPL policy. Insurance companies request the number and date of issue of the PTS when filling out information about the policyholder online.
  2. To check a car when buying a used vehicle.

When purchasing a vehicle from a previous owner, checking the documents allows you to make sure that the car has not been stolen. It is important to check that the date of issue of the PTS is later than the release of the car.

Too big a difference in the issuance and registration of a passport should also be alarming, since it indicates that the car is not in demand for some reason.

Not only the date of initial issuance of the PTS is important, but also the re-registration periods. If the car is owned for a short time, this is often a sign of a defect. New owners are trying to sell the car as soon as possible.

The date of issue of the PTS is set at the moment the car is registered with the traffic police. It turns out that the indicator indicates the period during which the vehicle is in legal operation.

For how long is PTS issued?

The validity period of a car passport is unlimited. The document exists as long as the vehicle itself. The owner can destroy the document when deregistering the car without the right to further use.

PTS does not require replacement. If the document runs out of space where the owners are entered, then a duplicate is issued with blank columns. In this case, the document indicates the number and date of issue of the original PTS.

It is worth considering that the duplicate has equal validity with the original document. But it is issued not only when filled out, but in case of loss. And this requires additional verification.

Often, scammers issue a duplicate in order to sell a stolen car with similar characteristics. Only the VIN code differs, but it is interrupted using special equipment.

And if a car is sold with a duplicate title, you should carefully check the information about the car so as not to purchase a stolen product.

What is PTS?

It does not matter where the car was assembled - in Russia or in another country.

PTS is an A4 sheet, there are watermarks. The document has a series and number, as in the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

What other information is contained in the PTS?

On the back there is a section with special marks. It records information about the owner, certificate number, re-registration and other data.

PTS is often called a technical passport and rightly so. The document contains all the necessary technical information about the car.

Where can I look at the date of issue on the original document?

The original PTS looks like this:

The document on the first page contains information:

  • VIN code of the vehicle (otherwise it is called an identification number and is duplicated on the car itself);
  • name, car model and make, according to the manufacturer;
  • assigned category (passenger car, truck, etc., which is indicated as A, B, C, D, E);
  • engine number;
  • engine power (indicated in two parameters - horsepower and kilowatt);
  • engine size and type;
  • environmental class;
  • permissible load weight;
  • weight of the car without load;
  • information about the owner;
  • date of issue of the document and by whom it was issued;
  • the country from which the car was exported for use in Russia.

The second page contains information about the copyright holders of the vehicle. The information is entered by the traffic police inspector when re-registering the car.

The date of issue of the document is on the first page in column No. 25. It is this indicator that must be entered into the form when applying for compulsory motor liability insurance. You will also need the PTS series and number.

Many people make the mistake of entering the date of receipt of the PTS in person. But you can’t do that. This date indicates the receipt of ownership of the car, and not the issuance of a title. Therefore, attention should only be paid to the title page.

There is another way to find out the date of issue of the document - contact the traffic police department with a passport, vehicle registration certificate and, preferably, a purchase and sale agreement.

The inspector needs to show all the listed documents and ask to make a request to the database. You can indicate that the PTS is not lost, but is located far away, and it is not yet possible to obtain information about it.

The inspector cannot refuse that request. Of course, you will have to spend time, but it still works much faster than getting a duplicate passport.

What a customs PTS is is explained in the article: customs PTS.

How much does it cost to get a title for a car? Read here.

Purpose of the document

You can leave your PTS at home and not take it with you. The main documents that may be required are a driver's license, registration certificate and insurance. PTS is not included in the list of required documents. If the car was assembled independently, the information must be entered into the STS. The presence of a certificate indicates that the vehicle is registered according to the rules.

In case of purchase, the owner must present the original registration certificate. If a duplicate is shown, you need to carefully check all the numbers. If you lose your vehicle vehicle, you must obtain a new vehicle vehicle certificate. It is in this document that the PTS number and series will be entered. You need to verify the identity on the duplicate.

The PTS indicates the origin of the car and customs restrictions. If the car was taken from a car dealership, then you need to drive up to the State Traffic Inspectorate office. A citizen must independently obtain a registration certificate.

The PTS must indicate the characteristics of the car. The original document cannot be confused with others. It contains watermarks and additional protection. If there is any doubt about the authenticity, it is necessary to check the stamps, series, and number.

Sometimes you need to get a new sample document. This may happen due to:

Obtaining a duplicate can be done at any traffic police department. To do this, you will need to prepare a package of documents. The new PTS will indicate the reason for issuing a duplicate.

How to find out online

When clarifying where to look for the date of issue of PTS for MTPL, the easiest option is to use the original document.

The owner must always have it with him for inspection by law enforcement officers. Of course, you can get by with the STS, but it is better to present both documents.

If the PTS is lost or stolen, you must contact the traffic police and obtain a duplicate. It is impossible to sell a car without a passport, so you should take care of the safety of the document.

But what should you do if you don’t have your PTS with you, or it was lost recently, and you urgently need to take out insurance?

Information about PTS can be obtained online through the official website of the traffic police. The system is constantly being improved, new functions are added, allowing for complete verification of documents.

Thanks to the online service, you can find out:

  • information about the previous owners of the car;
  • information about the car itself;
  • whether the car is missing;
  • Are there any restrictions on the car?

It is planned to finalize the system and introduce a function for checking the presence of bank encumbrances on a vehicle. But for now this opportunity is missing.

To carry out the inspection, you will need the VIN, chassis or body number. In the absence of documents, this number can be obtained in two ways: look at the STS or on the car itself.

The second option is relevant when selling a vehicle. Since documents can be easily falsified, changing the VIN is quite problematic. And almost always traces of the influence of physical force remain.

The VIN code may be located:

  • under the hood - on the engine, side of the body, on the hood door;
  • at the bottom of the windshield;
  • on the driver's door pillar;
  • under the floor trim on the driver's side.

If you purchase a car second-hand, you should check that all numbers are identical.

It is worth considering that the location of the code is different in different cars. This information can be obtained from the manufacturer or via the Internet.

So, when the code is received, you can check the car. To do this, go to the official website of the traffic police and on the right side find “Vehicle check”

We select this item and immediately get to the vehicle check page.

Enter the code and verification code (captcha), click “Request verification” and get the result. If the system gives an error, then try again. Repeat until a table with the required information appears on the screen.

The result includes registration data available to everyone. This is basic information about the car and ownership periods.

It turns out that it is impossible to find out the date of issue of the PTS online? Yes, this option is not available remotely.

This information is confidential, so it is available only to the owners. And everyone can request verification. For example, an employer when hiring a new employee.

In the complete absence of a PTS, it will no longer be possible to apply for compulsory motor liability insurance. If you only have a passport number, you can contact those companies where it is not required to indicate the date of issue of the document.

However, it will be possible to receive compensation in the event of an accident only after presenting the vehicle title. Therefore, you should not delay in obtaining a duplicate in case of loss of the document.

There are no penalties for the absence of a vehicle registration certificate. The main thing is that the driver has his license and STS with him. But the PTS cannot be considered an unnecessary document - it performs an important function and every car owner should have it.

There are only two ways to find out the date of issue of the PTS. The first is to look at the document itself on the first page. The second is to contact the traffic police and make a request through the database. It is not possible to obtain passport information online.

And if the document is stolen or lost, you must immediately contact law enforcement agencies to obtain a duplicate.

Otherwise, the car owner will not be able to sell the car, exchange it and receive compensation from the insurance company in the event of an accident.

Video: Glonass era and PTS issue date

The owner of the vehicle must know where to look for the date of issue of the PTS in 2021 if necessary, which depends on the date of issue of the document and when it needs to be changed.

Immediately after the document is issued, you need to understand where to find the date of issue of the PTS, and in what cases it needs to be indicated.

Registration of a vehicle technical passport is the main responsibility for every vehicle owner. Without this passport you cannot drive a vehicle without risking a large fine.

Important information

The main document for a car is a passport, which contains information about all the technical characteristics of the vehicle, as well as information about its owner.

Drivers are often interested in whether it is possible to find out the date of issue of the PTS by looking at the document. This becomes especially important when filling out various applications and documents for a vehicle.

Based on the vehicle's passport, the traffic police, upon the driver's request, issues a registration certificate, which is proof of the vehicle's registration.

PTS may be required when applying for a compulsory MTPL insurance policy, or when receiving insurance compensation. In all cases, the date of issue of the PTS is written when filling out the application.

The buyer of the vehicle may also wonder where the date of issue of the title is written. How to calculate? Additionally, this data is required by traffic patrols when checking a vehicle.

Difficulties arise if the document is lost. In this case, you need to make a duplicate.

Why is this document needed?

For the owner of a vehicle, the PTS is the main document that should always be available.

The passport contains the following information:

  1. PTS number. The passport is issued on a plain form, which has its own number. You can recognize it at the top of the front side of the document.
  2. Date of issue.
  3. Who issued the PTS - name of the organization.

Vehicle passports can be issued by various organizations:

Manufacturing plantThis option is the most common in the Russian Federation.
customs DepartmentPTS is issued at the customs office only if the transport was delivered from abroad and imported into the territory of the Russian Federation for further use in Russia
traffic policeThe traffic police will replace the document if it was damaged or lost

When registering a PTS, you must take into account that the document will contain data that must be indicated in the event of selling the car to another citizen, or when contacting an insurance company - to obtain an MTPL policy or receive payment for an insured event.

The vehicle number and other passport data are indicated when filling out documents for disposal of an old car.

For how long is it issued?

A vehicle passport is issued for an indefinite period, that is, the document has no expiration date.

In some cases, it is necessary to contact the traffic police department in order to obtain a new document. This happens in several cases:

  1. If you lose your vehicle passport.
  2. In case of PTS theft.
  3. If there is no free space in the old passport in order to enter the new owner into the document in case of sale or exchange of the car.
  4. If it is impossible to read the information contained in the document due to its getting wet or rubbing the pages.

To obtain a duplicate, you can contact the traffic police department at any time, regardless of when the old document was issued. To do this, you will need to prepare a package of papers.

It is necessary to take into account that the new document will indicate the reason for issuing a duplicate, as well as the details of the original title issued when the car was released from the manufacturing plant.

What regulations governs

The process of issuing PTS is regulated by several regulations in force in the Russian Federation:

  • Government Decree No. 1212 of October 5, 2021 - on issues related to the introduction of an electronic passport for a technical device in the Russian Federation. The regulatory act establishes the rules for the use of PTS;
  • Federal Law No. 156 of June 2, 2021 - in accordance with this document, changes were made to the legislative acts relating to the issuance of PTS;
  • The operating procedure for the electronic PTS system No. 122 is a document approved on September 22, 2015 by the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The driver must know what the technical passport of the vehicle looks like and make sure that he has not been issued a fake, since the absence of a document is punishable at the legislative level.

The main task of the driver is to ensure that the documents for the car are available. In their absence, it is impossible to issue a compulsory motor liability insurance policy, which is mandatory, and when the car is checked by an inspector, a fine will be assessed that could have been avoided.

Avtomama › Blog › What is a PTS and how to check a car with it?

PTS - what is it and why does this document tell you more about the car than any seller?
How to compare the VIN on a car and in the title? What are the dangers of duplicates and how to detect a fake? This article contains advice from Automama on how to check a car by title before purchasing. What is a car title?

PTS (vehicle passport) is the main document for a car, which contains detailed information about its owners and basic technical characteristics:

– VIN is a unique number of 17 characters, which is assigned by the manufacturer to each car. Using it you can determine the country of production, technical characteristics and factory equipment; – make and model of the car; – vehicle category; - year of issue; – body color; – technical characteristics (engine power and displacement, engine type, permissible maximum weight and unloaded weight); – manufacturer and all owners.

Tip #1: compare the VIN number in the title and on the car body

During the inspection, compare the VIN number on the body with the data in the vehicle's passport. Manufacturers place VIN numbers in several places on the vehicle body. Before inspection, check on the Internet or at any dealership of the brand all the VIN locations on the body of a particular model.

It is important to find the VIN stamped on the body, and not information plates, which are easy to fake. Therefore, when registering, a traffic police officer checks the vehicle’s VIN according to the title with the numbers stamped on the body.

Most often, the VIN stamped on the body is located:

– under the hood on the shock absorber cup or engine shield (separates the car interior from the engine compartment); – under the front passenger or driver’s seat; – in the trunk under the spare wheel.

Tip #2: check the car's characteristics using the VIN number

If the seller sends a scan of the PTS before the inspection, then using the specified VIN you can check the year of manufacture of the car and its general characteristics. There are several ways to do this.

1. Checking the date of production and modification through the spare parts catalog

Using spare parts catalogs, you can check for free that the VIN corresponds to the make and model of the car, year of manufacture and country of manufacture:

– www.elcats.ru — catalogs of most automakers; – www.zzap.ru - online store of spare parts; – www.autodoc.ru - online store of spare parts. 2. Checking the contents using specialized online services

For many popular car brands, you can find specialized online services for decoding VIN on the Internet. Such services allow you to obtain not only general data about the car, but also its equipment and a list of additional options. For example, for BMW – www.etk.cc.

3. Check with an authorized dealer

You can ask an official dealer of the brand to decrypt the VIN. This method will require patience and perseverance from you, because... official dealers are reluctant to provide such information if you do not own the car.

The service shows the general technical characteristics of the car and the year of manufacture. The service developers have already announced an expansion of information and soon new sections will appear here: car equipment, being pledged to the bank and technical maintenance. The service is located at avtokod.mos.ru and requires registration. To check using the Autocode, you need the VIN and the number of the Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC).

Tip #3: find out who issued the PTS

When checking your car's passport, pay attention to who issued it. According to the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Government of the Russian Federation of May 18, 1993 N 477 (as amended and supplemented), PTS has the right to issue the following organizations and authorities:

– car manufacturers; – customs authorities - on cars (new and used) imported into the territory of the Russian Federation; - traffic police departments - in all other cases.

1. Title issued by the automaker

If the title is issued by the manufacturer, then the car was manufactured in the Russian Federation and sold, most likely, through official representatives of the brand. Then the PTS will have the following chain of owners: manufacturer -> distributor -> official dealer -> private person. Such a car can be safely considered for purchase.

2. PTS issued by customs

In this case, pay attention to clause 20 of the PTS “Name of the owner of the vehicle.” If this paragraph indicates a brand representative in Russia, for example, Hyundai Motor CIS LLC, then the car was officially imported into Russia, sold through the brand’s dealer network and was supported by a manufacturer’s warranty. You can buy such a car if there are no other complaints about it.

If clause 20 of the PTS indicates an individual or organization that is not an official representative of the brand, then the car was imported into Russia with mileage (since only the official representative has the right to import new cars). In this case, we recommend paying special attention to its condition, since the ownership history, mileage and participation in an accident of this car may be unreliable.

You can find out the real condition and mileage of such a car on specialized forums of the brand, where there is a topic “Checking mileage”. Post a question to forum members. They are usually happy to provide such information.

If in clause 17 “Country of export of the vehicle” Belarus or Lithuania are indicated and in clause 20 “Name of the owner of the vehicle” NOT a representative of the brand is indicated, then be especially careful when checking and diagnosing such a car. These countries have long established themselves as suppliers of cars recovered after accidents.

The most difficult case. Almost always, the traffic police issues not the original, but a duplicate of the PTS to replace the lost or disposed one (there are no free places or the document has become unusable). Be careful with these cars. We'll tell you more about duplicates in Tip #5.

Tip #4: check the owner by title

– full name of the owner, – the basis for the transfer of ownership (number and date of the agreement); – date of transfer of ownership (IMPORTANT: does not necessarily coincide with the date of the contract, since ownership transfers on the day of signing the Vehicle Acceptance and Transfer Certificate, and not at the moment of signing the contract). If not all lines are filled in, then you are buying a car in a gray showroom or from a reseller. In this case, do not trust the seller and check the car very carefully.
