Violation of traffic rules is most often punished by a fine. Lawmakers are taking the path of tightening liability and increasing the amount of penalties, hoping to achieve greater safety on the roads.

The minimum fine for a driver today reached 500 rubles, and the maximum could be up to 5,000 thousand.

But there are other fines - 800 rubles. They are used relatively infrequently and therefore not all drivers know about them.

Why is a fine of 800 rubles imposed?

The types of violations for which a fine from the traffic police is imposed in the amount of 800 rubles in 2021, the article of the Code according to which it is assigned, possible discounts and security measures are presented in the table.

Why can there be a traffic police fine of 800 rubles?

A fine of 800 rubles - for what?

In previous articles, we looked at why there can be various types of fines - from 500 to 5000 rubles, multiples of 500 rubles. Now let's find out that if you were issued a fine of 800 rubles, this is a fairly uncommon amount of punishment for 2021 in the field of traffic! And, as usual, we’ll figure out whether a discount applies to it if you pay in the first 20 days, whether a fine is provided or other security measures, whether there is a possibility of losing your license for a repeated violation and other details.

So, a fine of 800 rubles is a fairly rare form of punishment for administrative violations not only in the field of traffic, but also in the Code of Administrative Offenses in general. By the way, this is our first article in the series “why is there a fine of such and such amount”, where speeding does not appear - none of the excesses falls under the fine of 800 rubles.

Why can they issue a fine of 800 rubles from a camera and manually?

Replacing a fine with a warning

In a number of cases, a traffic police officer who has recorded a violation committed by a driver has the right not to issue a fine of 800 rubles, replacing it with a warning.

A warning is a special method of punishment for an administrative violation, in which the culprit is officially reprimanded.

A warning instead of traffic police fines in 2021 is possible in a number of cases:

  • the offense is committed for the first time;
  • the actions did not pose a threat to the life and health of people;
  • the actions were not dangerous for animals, did not pose a threat of destruction of buildings or architectural monuments;
  • the offense did not pose a threat to the security of the country;
  • as a result of the actions of the perpetrator, no material damage was caused;
  • the actions of the perpetrator did not pose a danger to the environment.

In 2021, some traffic violations, for which penalties in the amount of 800 rubles are provided, may be replaced with a warning. These include the following:

  • lack of insurance policy;
  • driving an unregistered vehicle.

According to, the warning is issued in the form of a special document. Information about the warning issued by the traffic police, together with the data of the culprit, is entered into a special database. If a violator commits similar illegal actions again in 2021, this will be regarded as a repeat violation, and the sanctions imposed will be much more severe.

What are the reasons for the new traffic police fines starting in 2021?

Let’s not lie – the goal of all such innovations is not to “oppress unfortunate drivers”, but to improve road safety. A Russian person, not a German from the joke, who will stand in front of a red traffic light late at night on a deserted road.

We have a different view of things - Russian drivers willingly break the rules if compliance with them requires “stepping on the throat of their own song.” Especially when there is no traffic police officer nearby.

Meanwhile, road accidents in Russia happen a lot and often. People suffer and die, including both the “right” and the “guilty.” There is nothing to say about material losses. And correct, mutually polite behavior of drivers on the road is still a rarity.

In Russia, a special government commission has even been created to ensure road safety, which has created its own website. It publishes videos illustrating “dangerous driving,” a term that appeared several years ago. It is planned that over time, articles will be introduced into the Code of Administrative Offenses containing regulations on punishment and the amount of sanctions for such behavior on the road.

Government bodies are trying to correct the situation in the most understandable way for themselves - “punishment in rubles” for administrative violations. New traffic police fines from January 2021, actively discussed on the sidelines of the State Duma, only confirm this. Time will tell how effective the measure will be. The increase in fines is accompanied by the expansion of “automatic control”.

Additionally, it is planned to install several thousand video cameras on the highways, and most traffic police fines in 2021 will be issued automatically.

Discount provided

According to the driver who committed an offense, he has the right to take advantage of a discount on the amount of the fine. The offender is allowed to take advantage of a 50% discount in two cases:

  • the fact of a violation is established for the first time;
  • the fine is paid within the first 20 days after its assignment.

This discount applies to all violations of the rules for which sanctions of 800 rubles are imposed in 2021.

What could the traffic police fine for 800 rubles in 2021?

What could the traffic police fine for 800 rubles in 2021? All violations committed by drivers are monitored by traffic police officers and resolved in accordance with the laws of the administrative code of the Russian Federation. Fines in the amount of 800 rubles are not applied so often by traffic inspectors. Drivers should be aware of new fine rules, payment methods and possible discounts. At the level of such fines, there may be a warning or placing the car in an impound lot.

Camera fine

The fact that a significant number of traffic violations have been committed in 2021 is established using special cameras. The devices operate automatically. They are placed above the road, in places agreed upon with the administration of the city or locality. Drivers can find out about the presence of such cameras by special markings and road signs. They record what is happening on the road, as well as the parts adjacent to it.

If the rules are violated, a digital photograph taken by the device serves as evidence. It shows both the car itself and its license plate number. The number of offenses for which a traffic police fine is set at 800 rubles and which can be recorded on camera in 2021 includes the following:

  • driving beyond the limits indicated by the stop line;
  • violation of traffic rules when riding a bicycle;
  • lack of insurance.

The latest offense has been recorded using devices since 2021. The number will determine whether a compulsory motor liability insurance policy is issued for this vehicle. If insurance information is missing, the driver will be automatically issued a citation.

Why is there a traffic police fine of 800 rubles?

For which automobile penalties are provided, in 2019, in the amount of 800 rubles, are presented below:

  • If you drive a car that was registered in the wrong order, you will be fined from 500 to 800 rubles, following the stat. 12.1. There is a 50% discount on this fine;
  • If a vehicle for transporting people is driven without a technical inspection, it falls under Article 12.1, which provides for a fine of 500 to 800 rubles. A 50 percent discount is available for this type of recovery;
  • Crossing solid lines is punishable by withholding 800 rubles, following article 12.12, and there is also the opportunity to pay with a 50 percent discount;
  • Ignoring a stop by a traffic police officer is punishable by a penalty of 500 to 800 rubles. under Article 12.25. It is possible to pay with a 50 percent discount;
  • Now there is a fine under Article 12.29 for cyclists in the form of 800 rubles for non-compliance with traffic rules. Just like motorists, they can pay it by 50 percent;
  • Driving a car without OSAGO insurance is subject to a fine, following Article 12.37, in the amount of 500 to 800 rubles. There is a 50 percent discount.

These are the most common violations, for which you can receive a fine of 800 rubles. It should not be forgotten that repeated violations in the same year are punished more severely. The main things that can be applied to the driver in case of repeated violation:

  • application of a double fine;
  • Cancellation of discount even if payment is made immediately;
  • deprivation of rights for a certain period. This measure is mainly used if the driver does not have documents to register the car.

When a fine can be replaced with a warning

In some cases, traffic police may not issue a fine, but replace it with a first warning. A warning is an administrative punishment that has a mandatory official verbal reprimand.

Verbal punishment by traffic police officers in 2021 may be in the following cases:

  • if the driver violated the rule for the first time;
  • the violation was minor and did not pose a threat to the health of other people;
  • the violation did not pose a danger to building structures or animals;
  • the action taken did not pose a threat to the security of the state;
  • as a result of the incident, the offender did not cause material damage;
  • driving without insurance;
  • driving an unregistered car.

According to Article 3.4, a warning occurs with the execution of a certain document. Information about the violation and the details of the culprit are entered into a special database by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. In case of a repeated violation, the first one will be taken into account, and the repeated violation will be punished much more severely.

What is a fine discount?

Following the law of the Russian Federation number 437, the driver who violated the rules is given the opportunity to take advantage of a 50 percent discount. The discount is not possible in all cases, but only in two types of fines:

  1. The violation is made for the first time. To take advantage of the discount, the fine must be paid within 20 days after the violation was established. It should be noted that this discount is not valid for all types of violations in 2021, where a fine of 800 rubles is issued.
  2. Violation recorded by camera. There are automatic surveillance cameras in many places on highways. Drivers are aware of their presence or can determine this by the corresponding signs. Cameras record the road surface and areas adjacent to the road. These cameras record the bulk of rule violations by drivers.

The photo taken by the camera is proof of the violation. This photo clearly shows the license plate number of the car and the effect of the violation. The main types of violations recorded by CCTV cameras are:

  • crossing of markings prohibiting this;
  • traffic violations by cyclists;
  • lack of insurance documents for the car.

The last point has become possible in 2021. Using a special program, the vehicle number will be used to check whether insurance is issued for it. If there is no insurance, a photo of the car is sent to the appropriate services, and the driver is fined.

Traffic fine payment deadlines

From 2021, new deadlines for paying off fines have been introduced:

  • a period of 10 days during which a fine can be challenged if it was imposed by mistake;
  • a period of 60 days after the filing of the deadline for challenging, within which the violator must pay a fine.

Major changes to the code

There are many innovations in the Administrative Code, but for motorists the following can be noted:

  • the chapter regulating the procedure for imposing fines was moved to a separate section 21 (previously located in 12);
  • the size of many fines was increased - for speeding, lack of a diagnostic card, refusal of a medical examination, etc.;
  • the period for which the right to drive a vehicle can be taken away has been increased;
  • It is now possible to bring a driver to justice within 1 year.

The provisions on the minimum and maximum fines were also removed from the new edition. At the discussion stage of the bill, it was proposed to increase fines for the most common violations, but this proposal was rejected.

What fines have been changed?

The changes affected the following sanctions:

  1. Failure to pass technical inspection (12.5 part 1.1). For driving without a diagnostic card, a penalty of 500-800 rubles is provided, and in case of repeated violation - 5,000 rubles or deprivation of rights from 1 to 3 months. The sanction does not apply to drivers of specialized vehicles.
  2. Fine for unpaid travel on toll roads (12.21.4). For trucks the amount will be 5,000 rubles, for cars – 1,500 rubles. The sanction applies even on new routes where there is no toll point, and also if the driver fraudulently passed the point without paying.
  3. The fine for refusing a medical examination (12.26) is 40 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of rights for a period of 2 to 3 years. If there is a minor in the car, the sanction will be 50,000 rubles, and the license will be taken away for 2-3 years
  4. The fine for dangerous driving (repeated offence) under the new law will be 5 thousand rubles.
  5. In case of speeding by 20-40 mph, a sanction of 3 thousand rubles is imposed, for 40-60 mph - 4 thousand rubles, for 60-80 km and more than 80 km - 5 thousand rubles or deprivation of rights for up to six months. A repeated violation will cost 10 thousand rubles and deprivation of rights for a year.
  6. For failure to comply with the rules at a railway crossing, the driver will have to pay 5,000 rubles or lose his license for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  7. For driving while intoxicated, the driver will have to pay 40,000 rubles, and his license will be taken away for 2-3 years.
  8. For driving a vehicle not intended for this type of road (crawler tractor, sports bikes), the driver will face a sanction in the amount of 5 to 15 thousand rubles, and in the event of a repeated incident - from 20 to 30 thousand rubles.

If a driver systematically violates traffic rules (3 times or more in a year), the new version provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of rights for a period of 1 year or a fine of 10 to 30 thousand rubles.

Today, only 3 innovations are in effect - sanctions for lack of technical inspection and unpaid travel for passenger cars and trucks. The remaining changes are under discussion and may become relevant from November 1.

There is also a pleasant moment - if you pay the full amount of the fine no later than 20 days from the moment it was imposed, the driver will receive a 50% discount.

It is possible that tightening requirements and increasing fines will increase the responsibility of motorists, minimize the number of traffic violations, reduce the number of accidents, and save the lives of road users.

What can the traffic police fine for 500 and 800 rubles in 2021?

Every year there are new amendments to the traffic rules. Let's figure out why the traffic police can issue a fine of 800 rubles:

  • the first thing we found was driving a car that was not registered (Article 12.1 Part 1);
  • driving a taxi, bus, truck or vehicle designed to transport passengers without a technical inspection. The amount of the fine ranges from 500 to 800 rubles. Not very big, but still unpleasant for the wallet (Article 12.1 part 2);
  • if the driver does not comply with the traffic rules, which include stopping in front of the “Stop” line, driving through a red traffic light, or a traffic controller’s prohibiting gesture. These are quite serious violations, since failure to comply with one sign can lead to a major accident (Article 12.12 Part 2);
  • failure to comply with the requirements of an authorized employee who monitors the situation and safety on the road;
  • refusal to comply with the demands of a military person or employees of the armed forces of the Russian Federation (Article 12.25, Part 2);
  • violation of traffic rules by a cyclist or other citizen who participates in traffic (Article 12.29, Part 2);
  • control, if it does not have an insurance policy, or there are currently no documents in the car confirming its presence (Article 12.37, Part 2);
  • evading the demands of a police officer, thereby creating obstacles to the performance of his official duties. The punishment sometimes reaches up to 15 days of arrest. We can say that this is the most severe fine of those listed above (Article 12.25, Part 3);
  • there are also several articles prescribing a penalty of 500 rubles;
  • the use of vehicles that exceed the noise standard during operation according to Russian standards (Article 8.23);
  • absence of a registration plate on the car (Article 11.27);
  • when the vehicle registration plate is incorrectly installed, unreadable or dirty to such an extent that it is impossible to recognize the vehicle number (Article 12.2 part 1);
  • management without the necessary documents: registration and insurance (Article 12.3 Part 3);
  • in case of malfunction or absence of the brake system in the car (Article 12.5 part 2);
  • speeding while driving by 20 km/h or more (Article 12.9 Part 2).

Fines are created not only to empty the wallets of drivers and replenish the state treasury, but first of all they serve as a warning to the motorist, an attempt to convey the seriousness of the mistakes made every day on the road. The penalty must be paid within 70 days after the violation is documented: 10 days are given to challenge and 60 to pay the amount.

If you still did not have time or forgot to do this, the fine is doubled, and in the future you may be arrested for 15 days.

Currently, even a traffic camera can photograph the incident, and over time you will receive a protocol demanding payment for the misdemeanor.

Know your rights and try not to violate them, because ignorance is not an excuse. It’s very convenient to print out a reminder for yourself and always keep it in your car, so that if you have questions, you can appeal with articles and not empty words. Be careful on the roads!

What to do if a fine is issued

A fine of 500 rubles from the traffic police for what?

The fine can be handed in person by a traffic police officer or come by mail when the violation is recorded on camera. In any case, it is recommended not to delay payment.

Note! To encourage prompt payments, a twenty-day grace period has been established. During this time, the offender can only pay 50% of the fine.

The following methods of paying traffic fines are provided:

  • cash desk at a bank branch,
  • State Services portal,
  • official website of the traffic police,
  • Sberbank Online,
  • payment systems (Yandex, Qiwi, WebMoney).

It does not matter which method the payer chooses. But payment of the fine must be made within 60 days. If this is not done within the established time frame, the case is transferred to bailiffs, who can appoint:

  • payment of a fine + penalty in double the amount of the fine,
  • community service for up to 50 hours.

Important! Prompt payment reduces the amount of the fine, and delays tighten measures against the violator.

If the fine is not justified

Errors happen in any system. If the person who received the fine does not agree with the imposition of the penalty, you can contact the traffic police with a complaint. This makes sense only if the accused is completely confident that there are no relevant violations.

To begin with, you need to draft your application correctly. It must provide the following information:

  • the body to which the complaint is filed,
  • personal data of the person submitting the application and the authorized representative,
  • presentation of events in free form,
  • date of compilation and personal signature.

To resolve the issue smoothly, you should adhere to the following recommendations:

  • If possible, attach exculpatory evidence to the application (DVR recording, witness statements),
  • cooperate with the inspector, showing goodwill,
  • check all copies of protocols for errors,
  • take photographs of all completed documents.

If the documentation is in order and the evidence of innocence is convincing, the complaint must be resolved within 10 days.

Note! A more reliable way to resolve the issue is to go to court. Here, the illegality of collection is confirmed in 90% of cases. However, legal proceedings can take up to 2 months.

What can a traffic police fine of 800 rubles be issued for in 2021?

Every day millions of people commit crimes.
Consciously or not, we are ultimately forced to do this in order to achieve our goals or under appropriate circumstances. Although the laws of the Russian Federation make it possible to find punishment for almost all offenses, this is still a little subjective. All people are different, so the approach to each case should be tailored to the situation. But until such an individual law has been invented, we use generalized laws that are universal for similar cases. Let's figure out what a fine is and how much it can be prescribed. A fine is a punishment for an offense committed. Basically, the financial penalty depends on the severity of the offense. It is aimed at warning the offender so that in the future he behaves more consciously and with restraint. Can reach payments in the following amounts:

  • from several thousand to five million rubles;
  • in the amount of wages;
  • at the cost of damaged property, bribes or the amount of illegally transferred payments.

One of the categories is fines for traffic violations.

They are recorded in writing and make it clear that for each such driver will have to bear some kind of financial or other kind of responsibility. This is a very complex system, and sometimes it is difficult to monitor the execution of tasks of each part of such a huge infrastructure. Because of this, cases of corruption among traffic police officers are increasingly being recorded. But the fight against such phenomena is ongoing, and let’s hope that over time we will be able to eradicate it.

A fine of 800 rubles - what can the traffic police impose in 2021?

Offenses that are punishable by a fine of 800 rubles are associated with lack of registration, insurance, missing a technical inspection, crossing a stop line, and failure to comply with the requirements of government authorities. In addition, fines in the same amount are imposed not only for drivers, but also for cyclists.

Lack of registration

12.1 part 1 - driving a vehicle that is not registered in the prescribed manner.

After purchasing a vehicle, it must be registered within 10 days. If this is not done, a fine of 500 to 800 rubles is provided. In most cases, a maximum amount is imposed. For a repeated violation, you can lose your license for up to 3 months.

Crossing the stop line

12.12 part 2 - failure to comply with the requirement of the Traffic Rules to stop in front of the stop line indicated by road signs or markings of the roadway, when there is a prohibitory traffic light signal or a prohibitory gesture from a traffic controller.

When a prohibitory traffic light comes on, if there is a stop line, the driver must stop in front of it. If the video camera records a violation, the owner of the vehicle will receive a fine in the amount of 800 rubles.

No insurance

12.37 part 2 - failure of the vehicle owner to fulfill the obligation established by federal law to insure his civil liability, as well as driving the vehicle, if such compulsory insurance is obviously absent.

OSAGO is a mandatory policy that insures the civil liability of the owner. If the insured person is at fault for the accident, OSAGO will compensate the amount of material damage to the injured party. Such a system simplifies the resolution of financial issues arising as a result of emergency situations. Lack of insurance is a violation punishable by a fine of 800 rubles.

Additional Information! The State Duma is already considering the issue of tightening penalties for the absence of a compulsory motor liability insurance policy. In the near future, the fine for this offense may increase 6 times.

Pass inspection

12.1 part 2 - driving a passenger taxi, bus or truck designed and equipped for the transport of people, with more than eight seats (except for the driver), a specialized vehicle designed and equipped for the transport of dangerous goods that are not passed the state technical inspection.

Regular inspection is necessary to ensure road safety. It is especially important to promptly identify faults in vehicles that transport large numbers of passengers and dangerous goods. Therefore, in 2021, a new penalty has been introduced for them for failure to complete a technical inspection on time - a fine of eight hundred rubles.

Failure to comply with government requirements

12.25 part 2 - failure to comply with the legal request of a police officer or an official of the federal executive body exercising control and supervision functions in the field of transport to stop the vehicle.

12.25 part 3 - failure to comply with the legal request of an official of the military automobile inspection to stop a vehicle of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, engineering, technical, road construction military formations under federal executive authorities or rescue military units of the federal executive authority , authorized to solve problems in the field of civil defense.

Employees of the above government bodies have the right to demand a road user to stop. You should not ignore the State Traffic Inspectorate employees, because in such cases they are allowed to start pursuing the car. And for disobedience they can fine the violator.

Violations by cyclists

12.29 part 2 - violation of traffic rules by a person driving a bicycle, or a driver or other person directly involved in the process of road traffic (except for the persons specified in part 1 of this article, as well as the driver of the vehicle).

Road users include not only motorists and pedestrians, but also cyclists. For failure to comply with traffic rules on a bicycle, the owner receives a fine of 800 rubles, regardless of the violation. Only in case of driving while intoxicated, the amount can be increased to 1,500 rubles. This sanction also applies to horse-drawn cart drivers.

Fine 800 rubles for cyclists

Fine 800 rubles for cyclists

Fines can be issued not only to drivers of cars and motorcycles. Any violation by a cyclist or other road user, except a driver and a pedestrian, is punishable by a fine of 800 rubles. But if such participants commit a violation while intoxicated, the fine almost doubles - up to 1,500 rubles.

Traffic police fines for traffic violations

In 2021, traffic fines did not change. The amount of sanctions depends on the administrative offenses committed.

Personally, I have never found myself in a bad situation, but no one is immune from this. Knowledge of traffic rules and the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation is necessary for every driver. This will help insure against administrative sanctions.

Why is a fine of 500 rubles established?

The amount of 500 rubles is the minimum penalty for administrative violations. It is established for committing minor offenses. These include, for example:

Why is a fine of 800 rubles established?

In 2021, a fine of 800 rubles is rare, so not every driver knows about it. Penalties are established in individual cases depending on the type of offense committed:

  • Stop line. A traffic light signal prohibiting movement obliges drivers to stop until there is a special marking. Crossing the stop line is considered an administrative offense. The driver must be fined in the amount of 800 rubles without alternative sanctions.
  • Lack of insurance. Motorists must enter into an agreement with an insurance company. It is allowed to issue an MTPL policy electronically, and information about the conclusion of the contract is transferred to the database. If the driver does not have a paper document in his hands, this is not considered a violation. Collection is made if there is no information about insurance in the information base.
  • Not stopping at the request of a traffic police inspector. Situations often arise when a traffic police officer stops a car. If the driver does not react in any way, a fine is imposed on him. Many motorists believe this requirement is illegal, but they are wrong. Any traffic police inspector has the right to stop a vehicle, as well as check the documents of its owner.

Why is a fine of 1 thousand rubles established?

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, offenses for which a fine of 1 thousand rubles is established include:

  • driving a vehicle without wearing a seat belt;
  • speeding from 40 to 60 km/h;
  • crossing railway tracks in the wrong place or at a closed barrier;
  • failure to comply with highway traffic rules;
  • traffic movement at a red traffic light;
  • creating an obstacle for other cars while driving;
  • stopping movement in a prohibited place;
  • transporting passengers in the trunk of a car or in a trailer.

For which a fine of 2.5 thousand rubles is established

The reasons for imposing a fine in the amount of 2.5 thousand rubles are the following administrative violations:

  • high-speed traffic exceeding the established limit by 60–80 km/h;
  • improper parking or stopping of a vehicle in federal cities;
  • transportation of dangerous goods without permission;
  • no emergency card;
  • driving the wrong way on a motorway;
  • violations of traffic rules that led to slight harm to human health.

Why is a fine of 3 thousand rubles established?

Penalties are established by traffic police officers for a number of offenses in which the amount of the fine will depend on the severity of the offense committed, for example, for:

  • transfer of a vehicle to a person who does not have a driver’s license;
  • driving a vehicle outside of markings or in violation of road signs;
  • parking on a pedestrian crossing or sidewalk;
  • car parking on tram tracks;
  • stopping a car less than 5 meters from a pedestrian crossing;
  • transportation of children without provided seats.

Why is a fine of 5 thousand rubles established?

A fine of 5 thousand rubles is established, for example, for:

  • missing or altered license plates;
  • transportation of passengers or luggage without a license;
  • installation of flashing lights and/or sirens without special permission;
  • lack of the right to drive a vehicle;
  • speeding by more than 80 km/h;
  • prohibited or repeated movement across railway tracks, through a closed barrier or red signal;
  • prohibited overtaking;

    Driving into a lane intended for oncoming traffic in violation of traffic regulations is punishable by a fine of 1,000 to 1,500 rubles

  • stopping transport in places intended for disabled people;
  • causing harm to health;
  • intentional damage or pollution of roads.

Causes

Lack of vehicle registration

The first time we encounter the amount of 800 rubles is in Chapter 12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which describes violations related to traffic on the roads in the very first article.

Part 1 art. 12.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for such punishment for those who were lazy or did not manage to register their car within the prescribed period. More precisely, this norm indicates that the culprit will have to pay from 500 to 800 rubles. We note that according to Part 1.3 of Art. 32.2 of the same code, the fine may be paid in a smaller amount - if the offender meets the 20-day period from the moment the decision was made. Then he will have to pay only 50% of the amount (the “20-50” rule).

However, you need to remember: this discount does not apply in all cases. For example, if the person guilty of the described violation is again caught driving a car without registration, he will pay a fine under Part 1.1 of Art. 12.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation - and you will have to pay your 5,000 rubles in full.

The same punishment (“fork” from 500 to 800 rubles) awaits those who drive a taxi, truck, bus or other specialized vehicle that has not passed technical inspection (Part 2 of the same article). As in the first case, it is possible to reduce the amount if you quickly pay traffic fines. As for taxi drivers, you can find out more about the fines they are given for violations here.

Of course, in both cases it is impossible to automatically record a violation using cameras, scales or other technical means. It is required that a live traffic police inspector notices the violation and draws up a report.

Stop line

The second time we encounter a fine of 800 rubles is already in Art. 12.12. Part 2 of this norm indicates that a person who drove through a stop line marked or marked with signs, if the “red” light was on, or the traffic controller showed a stop sign, will pay the same amount. There is no “fork” here – the amount is clearly defined.

For someone who is caught committing this violation a second time, the amount of the fine increases: under Part 3 of the same article, he can either be fined, but this time for 5 thousand, or deprived of his rights for 4 - 6 months. And in the second case, the “20-50” rule will no longer apply - you will have to pay in full.

ATTENTION! Both the first and repeated violations can be recorded by cameras.

Didn't stop despite the inspector's orders

On the road, the driver is obliged to obey the orders of traffic police officers . In the event that the inspector gave a sign to stop, but the driver did not pay attention or decided not to obey and drove on, he will get acquainted with the blackout. 2 and 3 tbsp. 12.25 Code of Administrative Offences. The only difference between the parts is who is the subject of the violation. Part 2 concerns civilian drivers and traffic police inspectors, and part 3 concerns drivers from paramilitary forces (RF Armed Forces, National Guard, etc.) who did not obey military traffic inspectors.

In both cases, the culprit will face a fine of between five hundred and eight hundred rubles, but there are no additional penalties here. The 20-50 rule applies and auto-fixing does not apply here.

Penalty for other modes of transport

It should be noted that in most cases, drivers of cars and motorcycles are fined, but if the traffic rules are violated by a cyclist, a cart driver or another person other than a pedestrian, he will be in for a surprise in the form of punishment in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 12.29. No one is going to ignore violations, and a cyclist who does not want to comply with the rules on the road will also face a fine for violating traffic rules of exactly 800 rubles , without options.

The Code says nothing about repeat violations and more severe punishment for repeat violations in this case - but cyclists should not delude themselves. If it turns out that they violated the rules while intoxicated, the fine increases, and they will face a penalty of 1,000 to 1,500 rubles. There are no other penalties.

However, there are no additional penalties for them (a license is not needed for a bicycle or cart), and the discount rule applies to them. However, auto-registration does not work for such persons: bicycles are not registered and do not have license plates .

More information about fines for cyclists can be found here.

No insurance

And finally, speaking of 800-ruble fines, it’s worth looking at the last article of Chapter 12. Art. 12.37 of the Code of Administrative Offenses talks about violations related to compulsory motor liability insurance. In the event that the owner does not have a contract for this type of insurance, or he drives a car without having a policy, Part 2 of this article precisely gives the opportunity to traffic police officials to impose a fine on him in this exact amount.

REFERENCE! Now there is a unified database of numbers and insurance policies, so in some cases such a fine can be assigned based on auto-recording data. However, there is no more severe punishment for a repeated violation, and the “20-50” discount is fully valid.

Also, for other reasons, you can receive fines for violations in the following amounts:

  • 1500;
  • 2000, 2500, 10000 and 30000;
  • 5000;
  • 500;
  • 3000;
  • 1000 rubles.

Didn't stop when asked

If the driver committed a traffic violation - did not stop at the request of the inspector, then he will face a penalty of 500 to 800 rubles, provided for in the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

However, the car owner should take into account that in this case he may not get away with just a fine, because any disregard of the traffic police officer’s requirements is punishable by fifteen days of arrest.

In theory, this is considered illegal, since according to the Code of Administrative Offenses, punishment comes into force only for failure to stop transport at the request of an inspector. This offense is considered one of the most common.

But even this is not always a legal basis, because a traffic police officer has the right to demand a stop only for reasons that actually require it. These include:

  1. checking insurance, license, vehicle passport at a stationary post;
  2. obvious non-compliance with traffic rules;
  3. other.

If the stop was not on a legal basis (for example, the inspector checked the documents in the wrong place, no violations were found), then the 800 rubles issued are also considered illegal. But in order to challenge this point, the driver must still work to prove that the stop was illegal.

For cyclists

As you know, every cyclist, if he rides onto the roadway, must be aware of the traffic rules. However, not everyone takes into account the established road rules and drives without observing them. For this carelessness they face a fine.

If the offense was committed while intoxicated, the amount will double. Therefore, before you ride a bicycle on the road, you should learn all the traffic rules that apply to cycling for your own safety.

Insurance policy

For the lack of an insurance policy, there is a sanction that will ruin the owner by 800 rubles. But you need to know one nuance: 800 rubles must be paid by the car owner who does not have insurance at all. If he simply left it at home or if he is not included in it, then the punishment will be five hundred rubles.

It is worth mentioning another rather important point: cameras have learned to record this offense.
